Thunderbird is a fully featured, secure email client with built in RSS feed reader from Mozilla. With Thunderbird, you can easily manage multiple POP and IMAP email accounts and all of your favorite RSS feeds. Thunderbird has never been a replacement for Outlook. It is an desktop e-mail alternative to manage multiple email accounts. A better open source windows solution to Microsoft’s Outlook would be Spicebird which is essentially an outlook “type” extension of Mozilla’s Thunderbird.

Now Yahoo comes with Zimbra Desktop and may be a better replacement for both outlook and thunderbird.
