Easily Turn A 128 Character Long URL into a 25 Character Long Easy to Remember URL with Tinyurl

TinyURL shortens a long URL and redirects visitors to the original destination through a much shorter one.

Are you sick of posting URLs in emails only to have them break when sent causing the recipients to have to cut and paste them back together? Then TinyURL is the answer you’ve been looking for. When you enter an URL in the text field on TinyURL.com, the service will create a tiny URL that will not break in emails and web posting and it will never expire.

Take a look at this URL for Kindle 2: Amazon’s New Wireless Reading Device (Latest Generation) that is being sold at Amazon.com:

The above string is 128 characters long and is almost 100% guaranteed to break in any email you might send. However, after using TinyURL that same string will look exactly like this: http://tinyurl.com/cwox5w. TinyURL does this by shortening the original URL into a database and then activating a redirect to go to the original destination. Its really a great FREE service that anyone using Twitter will come to love.
