NetBeans is a Free & Open Source Java PHP IDE Built Entirely in Java

NetBeans is a free, open-source Integrated Development Environment, IDE, for software developers. You get all the tools you need to create professional desktop, enterprise, web, and mobile applications with the Java language, as well as C/C++, PHP, JavaScript, Groovy, and Ruby. It easy to install and use straight out of the box and runs on many operating systems including Windows, Linux, Mac OS X and Solaris.

I am relatively new to NetBeans, but so far I really dig it. I generally only code in PHP, so I have always been a big fan of PHPDesigner and I also use JEdit. But so far, I am really pleased with the layout and the standard features of NetBeans, many of which need to be installed as plugins with JEdit.
